Important information regarding foreign employment
1. For receiving financial support by the family of deceased migrant workers
Required documents:
- A letter from Department of Foreign Employment (FEPB)
- Labour permit sticker / letter
- Contract / Agreement paper
- Death certificate of deceased from municipality or rural municipality
- Passport and citizenship certificate of deceased
- A letter of death from the Embassy of Nepal in destination country
- Medical certificate or proof from hospital in destination country
- A document given by custom office at Tribhuban International Airport (TIA)
- Citizenship certificate and photos of nearest family members/keen
- Relationship certificate if married or proof of unmarried if not married
Time to apply: Within one year from the date of dead body repatriation
Receivable amount: NRs. 700,000 (from 31 July 2017)
Applicant: Spouse (if married) or Parents (if unmarried)
2. For receiving financial support for the treatment of migrant worker
Required documents:
- A letter from Department of Foreign Employment (FEPB)
- Labour permit sticker / letter
- Contract / Agreement paper
- A proof letter of treatment given by the Embassy of Nepal or hospital in destination country
- Passport, citizenship certificate and PP size photographs of migrant worker
- A proof of treatment or medical certificate from government hospital in Nepal
Time to apply: Within one year from the date of repatriation
Receivable amount: Maximum NRs. 700,000
Applicant: Self (migrant worker)
3. For receiving financial support for the treatment of family member of migrant
workers
Required documents:
- A letter from Department of Foreign Employment (FEPB)
- Labour permit sticker / letter
- Contract / agreement paper
- Passport and citizenship certificate of migrant worker
- Citizenship certificate and photograph of the family of migrant worker getting medical treatment
- Relationship certificate from rural municipality/municipality
- Medical report from the government hospital in Nepal for those who are suffering from Cancer, Kidney problem, Heart disease, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer
Time to apply: Within one year from the date of treatment
Receivable amount: Maximum NRs. 50,000
Applicant: Self (migrant worker)
4. For getting financial support to the migrant workers with physical disability
Required documents:
- A letter from Department of Foreign Employment (FEPB)
- Labour permit sticker / letter
- A proof of physical disability given by the Embassy of Nepal or hospital in country of destination
- Passport, citizenship certificate and PP size photographs of migrant worker
- Photographs showing physical injuries
- A proof of treatment or medical certificate form government hospital in Nepal
Time to apply: Within one year from the date of treatment
Receivable amount: Maximum NRs. 700,000
Applicant: Self (migrant worker)
5. For getting vehicle support to reach dead body from airport to hometown
Required documents:
- Citizenship certificate of applicant
- Passport of deceased
Time to apply: One day before or same day of the arrival of dead body
Applicant: Family/relatives of deceased
6. For receiving scholarship support by the children of deceased/migrant workers with complete physical disability
Required documents:
- Passport of worker
- Labour permit sticker/letter
- A proof of death or medical report of complete physical disability of the migrant workers provided by concerned agencies in destination
- Relationship certificate from rural municipality/municipality
- Passport size photograph of applicant
- Citizenship of applicant’s nearest keen/guardians
- Proof of compensation received from Foreign Employment Promotion Board (FEPB)
- Recommendation letter from respective school
Agency to submit application: District Education Office of the applicant’s district
Application submission date: within the time frame as dispatched by Foreign Employment Promotion Board (FEPB)
Receivable amount: NRs. 8000 for primary level and NRs. 12000 for secondary level
Applicant: Victim's son/daughter
Note: The given provision for financial and other support has come into effect from Shawna 16, 2074 (3 July, 2017) onwards.
