20 stranded migrant workers received from TIA

MARCH 18, 2020: PNCC received 20 migrant workers who were deported from Qatar on Monday from Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA). Those deported migrant workers were forcefully asked to leave their belongings and place of work on Friday as a group of cops came and thrashed them away for a COVID-19 medical check.

At first, they were remanded however, later they were sent to Nepal.

They received transportation fare under the Hamro Samman project that aims at reducing the prevalence of Trafficking in Persons (TIP) in Nepal by bringing together implementing partners and various stakeholders including government agencies, civil society organizations, and private sectors. They were not kept at the Shelter house of PNCC as they had traveled from a COVID-19 hit nation.
