MRVRS Malaysia Project (Completed)

The project, “Advancing Migrant Rights Agenda through Advocacy and Legal Support for Nepali Migrants in Malaysia” is joint collaboration with Migrant Forum in Asia since 11 June, 2015 and supported by the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC).  This project is basically focused on increasing capacity of civil society organizations to protect the rights of Nepali migrants in Malaysia and also sensitizing potential stakeholders to implement rights based policies for the social justice and human rights of migrant workers. Under this project, assistance for rescue efforts is provided to migrant workers in distress and capacity building training is provided to potential stakeholders working in migration sector.  Generally, providing possible assistance to 200 migrant workers in distressful situation is the annual target of the project whereas till the date as many as 1096 beneficiary have been provided assistance it’s through rescue support mechanism: and as many as 405 migrant workers are directly benefited with training for rescue efforts.
